On July 16^th – 18^th, BDS Group, a top coating company in China, had a high-level appearance at the Coating Show Indonesia 2025. Mr. Xueping Fang, president of the group, led a team of elites to build the largest exhibition area in Jakarta Convention Center with the three featured product series of wood paint, stone imitation paint and art paint, proving the top strength of China’s coating science and technology to the Southeast Asian market. On the first day of the event, we already attracted 12 enterprises such as PT Wijaya Karya to discuss cooperation with us. During the three days of the exhibition, we received over 1,000 professional visitors. China’s environmental-friendly coating technology was strongly appreciated by the Southeast Asian market.

01 Southeast Asia Is a Vital Growth Pole of the Industry

The paints and coatings market in Southeast Asia is developing into an important growth pole for the global coatings industry due to its unique geographic advantages and growing economic vitality. As the largest economy in Southeast Asia, Indonesia is the largest consumer market for paints and coatings in this area. Data shows that in 2024, the consumption of paints and coatings in Southeast Asia was 4,336,100 tons, with a market size of USD13,594 billion. The consumption of those in Indonesia reached 1,358,700 tons, accounting for 31.33% of the total consumption.

Market Size: The coatings market in Indonesia is expected to expand to USD4.5 billion in 2025, with an AAGR ≥8%, leading Southeast Asia in terms of growth rate;

Supportive Policy: The Indonesian government’s “2025 Greenship Building Standard” mandates the use of environmental-friendly coatings in new projects, and the demand for waterborne paints is growing at an annual rate of 35%;

Technological Gap: There are over 200 coating companies in Indonesia, but only 15% of them master the technology of high temperature and high humidity protection. BDS stone imitation paint hits this industrial target with its weather-resistant function that can last for 15 years.

At the forum of this exhibition, Dr. Tommy Fang, Innovation Center CEO of BDS Group, delivered a speech on “Creating a World-class Leading Brand of Coatings”. The framework of BDS Group’s globalization strategy was put forward for the first time.

04 Three Product Series Bring a Craze for the Show

To achieve the goal of “technology autonomy”, we develop our own formula for the furniture paint, which contains a good proportion of bio-based resin. We were invited to share our technology by the furniture associations in Indonesia.

To realize “standard globalization”, our stone imitation paint can last for 15 years with its weather-resistant characteristics. There are 5 mainstream developers plan to add it to the annual procurement.

To prove “service localization”, our art paint customizes the design of Balinese cultural totems, and we got big orders from the hotels there.
